Dang, I have a 2012 Native Ultimate Tandem 14.5 for sale in Kansas. Single or tandem seating, 64 lbs with a 450 lb weight capacity, and always stored in a shed. The bow was removed and reattached, which is a long story.

The kayak came with two very minor factory defects which were not fatal. Native Watercraft said they would replace the kayak if I cut out the two small areas (they were on the inside gunwale where the thwart poles go) and the serial number and send it to them, and then destroyed the kayak. I cut out the parts and sawed off the bow, sent them a photo, and they sent me a new kayak. I had intended to just scavenge the parts like the rudder and pedals, but decided I had 95% of a kayak and read up on plastic welding. Some stainless steel screws and nuts and metal straps to hold all the curves in place, and the bow was reattached. I used 3M marine sealant in the screw holes. A plastic cutting board was sacrificed to replace the small excised defective areas and the small hole where the serial number was. I tested it in a friends swimming pool, and there was one small screw hole leak that was fixed. Five years later and miles and miles on the water and not a single leak.

I thought you agreed to destroy the kayak. And now you're trying to sell it? So that's how you make the returns you do on your investments.

The company judged the kayak to be destroyed, they made the determination.
