I have never had a problem with their return policy. Very easy. More than once they have told me to just keep the item I was going to return, and immediately refunded money. Last time it was a case of K-Cups. I’ve had exactly the same experience Amazon has been nothing more than fair with me when it comes to customer service even crediting my account for minor inconveniences

I have returned many items with Amazon and it was simple and quick. Print label, take to UPS, couple days later I get a refund. Not sure what you bought, but I would have imagined it said item was not refundable. I would contact them, they usually are pretty accommodating and will probably let you return it for full refund.

Sounds like you got one of the third party sellers. Amazon has a very liberal return policy in general, but sometimes the third party sellers are not as accommodating. Third-party sellers are required to have a return policy that's at least as generous as Amazon's. Sometimes the third-party sellers don't know that, but if you escalate to Amazon customer service they'll learn it quickly.

I'm still waiting on 2 items I ordered from Amazon a year ago. Yep, quality program. Why would you wait so long? Trust me, had you called or contacted Amazon sooner, they would have taken care of you immediately...and they still may. Call them and see... nothing to lose at this point. I've found dealing with Amazon pleasurable and more than satisfactory, including mistakes in ordering on my part.

My guess is that Amazon does not take returns because Amazon wants you to use your account to "sell it yourself."

I'm still waiting on 2 items I ordered from Amazon a year ago. Yep, quality program. I have no particular expertise in product logistics, but if it’s not there in another year (24 months total), I’d definitely recommend checking on the order.

I can't even count the number of things I've returned on amazon. It's stupid easy. I returned a mattress one time...

ask them to send a return postage slip if there wasnt one in the box. rumps recent rant on Bezos & co was a little malinformed as the post office only dilvers what AMaazon themselves drop off at the PO, it didnt get full shipping by PO, BUT if you return something it will likely be returned all the way thru the PO , more proffit in accepting returns and shipping them back than there is in delivery, 'merican shippin' itsa trip

I don't have an account, but I used my wife's account to order something on Monday for a project. On Tuesday, I decided against initiating the project. (unable to cancel order as it had already shipped) The item ordered weighs just under 200lbs (it arrives today)
My wife has informed me that Amazon sells items that are unreturnable.
There is no mention of the returnability of the item I purchased in the product description or shipping information.
Hoping that the item is returnable, I understand options may include scheduling pick up or taking it to a UPS store
Lesson learned, I'll continue to go without an Amazon account and shop at stores where you can return unopened items promptly with a receipt. Return it to Academy, they take everything!

I've found dealing with Amazon pleasurable and more than satisfactory, including mistakes in ordering on my part. Aren't they at the mercy of their suppliers? If your question is whether or not Amazon is a the mercy of its suppliers regarding returns, the answer depends on who is actually selling/shipping it. Meaning, whether you bought it directly from Amazon, or if it is the type of item that only ships directly from suppliers even if you bought it on Amazon, or if you bought it from a third party seller on Amazon’s market place. Since this is a large item, per the OP, it might have been shipped directly from the manufacturer even if it was bought from Amazon. Then the consumer might be at the mercy of the manufacturer, but it still depends. Amazon tends to treat manufacturers poorly but treats customers extremely well, so even if it was shipped by the vendor, but bought on Amazon, BFL should have been taken care of. A year is a long time to wait to make a complaint, though, and I’d love to hear more about his situation, because it sounds ridiculous.
