Hit Fayette today...Plan was to fish for Red Ear 8-10 am & bass thereafter. Got 11 killer Red Ear & 1 big bluegill in that time slot. Had 1 monster Red Ear break off...saw it and was better than 2 lbs. Kept 7 that had either swallowed the hook, or were not full of eggs. A couple were about ready to pop they were so fat with eggs. Wanted to try a new plastic swim bait (see pic) & it worked really well. Caught 18 bass all in the 2-2.5 lb range with 7 or 8 coming on the Culprit worm & the rest on the swim bait. Water temp was 74-78 and at full pool. All Red Ear caught in 1-2 foot of water on night crawlers. Had to leave the lake at 3:00 due to really bad winds.

Thanks guys...it seems like there are no small bluegill or red ear on Fayette. Once you find them...hold on ! The only problem is that I have only located these guys in 2 spots on the entire lake...so far...

As always great post and some solid fish! How was the water clarity? I know Fayette had gotten a lot of rain this past week! Again super post.
