I’m looking at buying an 09 champion 198 single console with a HPDI series 2 motor. It’s clean and the price is right in my opinion. Anything I need to watch out for on these boats? Motor supposedly has under 300 hours. I know nothing about the law big Yamaha’s. Thanks in advance.

be sure it has been serviced then do a rigorous test ride an have a Yamaha tech check it out the motors are good but most go down because when they don't run right they need to be hooked up to a computer to see whats going on the more they are run not preforming right the more the engine is hurt.

Check the pivot bushing to see if they're worn, if they're worn, it's about a $1000 repair.
