Yep, you have Sherman and Dennison very close by and DFW only a little over an hour away, good bass, great small mouth, stripers, crappie, catfish, beautiful lake, lots to like.

Go back a few pages in the bass section. Write down and keep count of the lake that is the topic of each post and I am sure you will find your answer.

Everyone has forgotten West of Austin, Lake Travis, LBJ, Buchanan, Town Lake, Lake Austin, then over east is Bastrop Lake, then Fayette County Lake, just 35 miles south is Canyon Lake, and 160 miles south is Choke Canyon, 100 miles north is Belton Lake, and Stillhouse.
I lived in Dripping Springs for 25 years and love all the lakes I had to choose from.

Compared to who? My taxes in Frisco are a lot higher than they are on Cypress Springs!

This...there's so many lakes in or around wood county that are good, and then within an hour you have access to Fork, Sandlin, Monticello, Pines, Athens, and Palestine which are all great fisheries that can produce giants. Sam or Toledo would be awesome as well. Like others said lots of it depends on what you're looking for specifically outside of just fishing.
