We took the Lake Belton crew up to Fork for the tournament. None of us have ever been on Fork nor fished a Tournament. We fish a catfish jug tournament here on Belton once a year.

Let me start by saying the locals were incredibly nice and helpful. The place we stayed (Northshore) was perfect. All the people we met were so nice and accommodating. Also the guys on here and whom I have met thru other sites and CAT were very helpful to a novice also.

We pre-fished on Friday with limited success, didn't find fish shallow, found lots of channel cats actually, so much fun catching them on jigs and minnows that we stayed awhile. Finally found some crappie around some docks and in the standing timber. Saturday was windy and rough, water was horrible muddy. We fished from 7-12:30 and landed 8 fish. One fish under a pound, two fish over 2 pounds, the rest in between.

We had a lot of fun. My boat full was a blast the whole time and fished hard. I couldn't be happier with the crew. We were fortunate to have caught the second 1.25 lb fish, a 2.10 lb. that didn't make the board by a tiny bit, I landed a 2.15 for 19th place, and the best one (for some) was my wife caught a nice fish that was a good contender for 1.50 lb. and also a 10" that was tiny, .54, I thought there was a category for that, guess not but she weighed it in and wasn't real impressed with my knowledge on the subject!!

The tournament was run well and we got to the weigh in with 10 min to spare and didn't have to wait too long to weigh our fish. The donation to the NOCC was awesome as my wife is a breast cancer survivor going on 10 years now. Thanks to everyone who helped us succeed and all the tournament volunteers who worked hard to make this possible.

As soon as CAT comes out with a date for next year we will book our house for next year!!

Thanks

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Congrats Rex and crew! You guys did great on your first trip to Fork. It was fun hanging out with y'all and the others Friday night, too.

Anyway, here's a couple of pics from the beginning and end of my day:

thumb Great report Rex. Looks like it didn't take too long for y'all to figure Fork out. And catching two PB crappie is just icing on the cake.
