Good Friday was a beautiful day to fish the cypress trees. Pattern was the same it has been the past 2 weeks. 3-4 ft of water in flats adjacent to the river channel. 1/8 oz orange head with white and chartreuse jig tipped with a white CRAPPIE NIBBLE..... sorry crapicat I had to. Saturday was a completely different story. I fished about 2 hours before the kids got up and only managed one bite. same story as always during the spawn here today, gone tomorrow. The rest of Saturday was spent with the family on the porch and the pier. it was a beautiful

weekend to be outside. water was only 64 so we still have several good weeks of fishing to go on the same pattern.

Well I was a day late on this one. Sat. was rough on me also. Sunday I fished hard and picked up 5 in the trees I figure they were pulling back up from the rain last week. I will be down there again this weekend. I figure the rain Friday will mess them up again. What do you think?

Supposed to be cold and windy and possibly raining on Saturday. I believe I will take the opportunity to get a few things done around the house and wait on a nicer day to fish.

I love seeing Caddo pics! Used to spend alot of time on that lake and Bistineau when I was young.

So what is the chance the crappie go in hiding when the rush of weekend boats show up on the lake? hmmm

I went to Caddo yesterday and almost got skunked. There is just so much fishable structure there that it can be difficult to find areas holding fish. I managed to find some water that was a couple degrees warmer and tea colored instead of chocolate milk and focused my efforts there instead. Luckily I stumbled upon a boat dock that was holding fish. Caught a tiny ditch pickle, a couple dink crappie on the edge, and then pulled 16 keepers out of the back corner of the dock. Yesterday was the most fish I've ever caught on Caddo and now I might not wait a couple years before I go back.
