Son and I had a great morning yesterday, we had 21 fish, 4 over 5 pounds with the biggest we weighed was 11.30.
Wacky and jig. Picture ,and video coming later, once my son helps me load them. Purtis Creek
Lake.

I was out there later in the day, Friday, didn't get there until 10:30 AM and another kayak angler told me he had heard about the 11+ pound LMB.

I "think" I caught my biggest bass in the same area, just a bit of vegetation, made a cast to it where I suspected a fish might want to hang out, and bang, she took it.

Mine was about 4 lbs. so not even close to your fish. But, I caught it on a 5'6" Medium power spinning rod with 10 lbs. braid and 8 lbs. leader, so it was an interesting tug-of-war.
