Selling my home in MO and wish to relocate to TX and be on a Lake......I have fished a few, but would ask you Texans if you could choose any of the great lakes to live on, which would it be? Thanks in advance.

I would go with Hawkins. Pretty lake. Good fishing. Lots of other lakes nearby

Toledo bend or Rayburn would be my first suggestion. Next would be a couple of smaller lakes, Quitman or Hollbrook... then you dont have all the chaos of the big lakes, still good fishing, and a short drive to some of the best fisheries in the state.

Private lake? Public lake? Close to metroplex? Far from metroplex?
Id choose Lake Cherokee Large private lake somewhat close to DFW and close to all the east and deep East Texas lakes

If you don't need to be around a big city, I'd go with Rayburn.

Fish TB one day and Big Sam the next. If you want to live on the water TB is the choice. East Texas folks are some of the friendliest anywhere too.

Depends on a lot of things that you might want/not want. Will you need to be close to a major city for any type of medical issues? Close to night life? Close to lots of good eats? That would be somewhere around DFW area. In city or just outside of it? If just outside, maybe Lake Ray Roberts or something like that. If you do not want to live closer than 120 miles from a big city, then the try lake area of Monticello, Bob Sandlin and Cypress Springs is a pretty good choice. If you are looking for FISHING lakes, those will do but are not nearly as good as Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend, but those are like 2.5 hours from any major city (Houston). If you want REMOTE locations, OH Ivie, Alan Henry and Merideth are good for that. Warmer climate? Amistad and Falcon. So again, LOTS to consider. Hope this helps. PM me if you want some specific questions answered.
