Went to Leon this morning and water district man told us lake was closed. A large section of the dam slide off the top and they were worried the dam would fail.
Don’t know when they are going to reopen.

That is crazy. Can’t imagine part of the dam falling in. Guess you will have to go to Hubbard Creek or PK for a while now.

I had planned on spending a week out there in the middle of April. This was very depressing news to say the least. I love this little lake.

My mom lives on Lake Leon and she just got off the phone with La Mancha. Said they would be doing some repairs to the dam and should only take about 2 weeks.

It will take at least two weeks for them to figure out how to pay for dam repairs. I’m betting the ramps will be closed much longer than that.
