Have any of you had the Booyah Shad Quad spinnerbait arm break off of head all is left is the arm tied to line and maybe a balde or 2. I have mostly used the Quad Shad spinnerbait it's the one with 4 small willow blades and everyone has broke luckily it was not when I had a fish on. How well does the regular Booyah double willow blade spinnerbait hold up? Think I'm done with the Quad shad any recommendation on another spinnerbait brand. I'm not bashing Booyah spinnerbaits just tired of buying bait's that don't last very long.

That booyah quad blade has become my go to spinner bait the last 2 years. I catch a lot of fish on it. My only problem is that the main arm bends pretty easy. I just bought some of those booyahs on sale at bass pro (5 for $10). Something is wrong with mine. The main arm bends out of shape very very easy.

Un less they have gone to a stronger wire arm Be prepared for Quad Shad to break every one I had has broke, was fishing with a fairly new one this weekend went to make a cast and it went flying all I had left was the arm bend tied to line. They were my main SB also but got to go to something else I don't think the double willow blade style is as bad about breaking my get some of those and try.

After the 3rd one broke on a fish I quit using them. All were double willows. Two of those weren't even very big fish.

I think I know the answer. Metal fatigue.

If so, it is likely happening because the added resistance of the extra blades twirling against the water as you reel it in are flexing/vibrating the wire and it creates a weakness in it and snaps. *** Think about how most of us have at some point or another taken a wire coat hanger and wiggled it back and forth to snap it. The ends get hot from the back and forth motion, and it breaks.

So, these spinnerbaits with four blades won't last as long as others I suspect.

Metal fatigue. The same thing happens to airplane wings after long use. They use tomography to identify microscopic tears in metals that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

The sad part is as regards a fix, if they enlarge the wire gauge, it would likely hamper the thumping vibration.

Brad
