Regardless, the contents of the fat "cell" becomes starved, so to speak, and shrivels. The contents are flushed. The "fat cells" remain, but they are starved when we are in shape or lose weight, but they never leave us. That is, unless you have money and get surgery to remove them.
The depleted fat cells are there, lying in wait, hoping for that moment to "balloon up" again.
It's up to us to keep them at bay.
