Although the conditions weren't going to be exactly what was wanted, there was a chance to go fishing and we took it. From what I remember, it was supposed to be cloudy in the morning, some wind and turning partly sunny by midday. Well, the cloudy and some wind part came true. By 2:30, we had only seen probably 10 minutes of sun. My Wife fished her usual small cranks and lipless baits. I threw all kinds of stuff. I even threw a Woopper Plopper. My Wife ended up with 3 bass and a bluegill. I didn't even get a bite until the last 20 minutes I fished. A 2 pounder at best. When Southwest Outdoors Report said fishing would be fair today, they weren't kidding.
We'll get em' next time!!

I hear ya. One day the bite can be on fire and in 24 hours later, nothing. I have seen this happen over and over again. Catch a ton of fish one day, talk about it to some friends, take a friend the next day and you look like a fool trying to find a bite. That's fishing... LOL

I forgot to mention that the water on Bastrop was higher than I have seen in quite awhile. There is an open spot behind the North Shore courtesy dock that had water way up in it. The fishing platform in Camping Loop Cove was actually in the water, too. Those 2 things mean the water is up. Funny, how you can go to LCRA's website and it say that the lake is 1/2 a foot low and the docks at the ramps are 3 feet low. Then, the website says the same thing and the water is a foot low at the same ramp. Hmmmm.....

I think that it is all canned reports from years of data but unless there is an extreme or ramps are closed.
