Been Catfishing all Winter on RC, but conducted our first White Bass Trips this past week! A twosome from Houston had their limits very easily on Thursday and a Group of Eight from Mansfield put the hurt on some big fish on a WINDY Saturday! The fish are on the Main Lake in all the usual Spring Locations (Pelican Island, 309 Flats, Old Roadbed, etc.) in water all the way from 15-30FOW. All fish caught on Silver or Chartruese RSR Slabs with a Jig Teaser. LOTS of small Hybrids mixed in with the big Sandies so be careful what goes in the Ice Chest. The action is only going to get better as the weather and water continue to warm. We have a few April Weekday openings if anyone wants to get in on the action! The perfect day according to many fishermen would include (1)Good South Wind around 10MPH, (2)Good Cloudcover (3) Steady Barometer (4)Just Before a Front! This AM around 7:15 O'clock fit the description perfectly. Two Brothers (One from Houston and One from DFW) met up at the Marina on Sunday night and met me at the Dock this AM. We motored to Pelican Island & caught the first White at 7:30AM, They had their 50 fish limit at 8:40AM. Birds were working, Fish schooled on top the entire time, and all fish were caught skimming Slabs along the surface. At 9AM, we got on a school of Hybrids off the 309 Flats and worked them over for an hour before they disappeared. Caught an estimated 25 fish but only 5 were Keepers! LOTS of 16" to 17" fish! Guys said we've had enough, off the Lake by 10:15AM, and we were through cleaning fish by 11:30AM! Not another boat did we see!!!! AWESOME!
