The great thing about being a Teacher is having the summers off. I'm in the middle of trying to hit some of the best central to east texas bass lakes in Texas. Starting by going to Fork then working my way east. I have cedar creek, lake of the pines, toledo bend and rayburn on my list. Is there anything in the middle of those that I should throw in? Or any lakes that you would recommend?

Kurth lake just popped out a 13lber. Might be worth a try. Small lake, might be a reprieve from the big waters of Rayburn and T-Bend.

If you are going to be at Cedar Creek it may be worth taking a day or half a day to stop off at Purtis Creek. It is a small "No Wake" lake right by Cedar Creek. I have a buddy that fishes there.

Some excellent lakes near Lake O' Pines are Lone Star (Ellison Creek), Gilmer, Holbrook and Hawkins. Looking for "hot spots" on any of these lakes, PM me.

I love lake Holbrook! I’ve caught so many fish right off the boat ramp

I would go to Gilmer before going to Pines...Gilmer has been producing 17-22lbs on the 3 hour wednesday night tournaments! tremendous lake!
