Took the new helix out for the first time. Used my old 898c si transucer which has worked fine for 5 years. The helix has a bunch of clutter in horizontal lines along the water coulunn using side image on the left side. Right side has most of the clutter clear. Down image has clutter along the water column also. From factory default settings played with the sensitivity and the surface clutter with no help. Any ideas

Pretty sure it's the Transducer. The 898 uses an HD transducer, the standard Helix 9 does not.

HB told me the 898 transducer is compatible. I spoke to two different oeople at HB about this

The helix 9 comes with the compact si transducer. The 898 actually has the better transducer the hdsi model and will work better as far as imaging goes. Make sure there is no obstruction on left side keeping the left si from havingva clear view. If you can post some screen shots.

Cool! I didn't realize. I just got on the HB website and looked up the Transducers, and noticed that they were different, and figured that was his problem.
