I have a 2004 Yamaha 225 fuel injected that has started acting up, starts and runs fine off the trailer but the longer you run it then try to idle it keeps dying, finally the only way you can get it to start is to kick it out of gear and give it full throttle. It will start but when you pull it back down to idle or go to neutral it dies again. Did a pressure test on the fuel pumps, it has two and both have the right pressure, any ideas would be appreciated.

Time for service??? Fuel filters? Have injectors ever been flow tested? If not then they're way past due. Dont want injectors leaning out & seizing motor up. Way cheaper to service than pop a motor from lack of manufacturers service guidelines.

Oxygen Sensor? I thought the OX 66 was notorious for that back then

Manual fuel pump diaphragms is where I would start.

Not sure where the Oxygen Sensor is located. A good friend of mine ran the OX66 back then and he had to replace it about every 18 -24 months or so because it made it run like yours in the description. Sorry but I was running a Black Motor back then.
