I got to fish with an old friend whom i haven't fished with in a long time. He doesn't fly fish yet but he is still a great guy (and I'm working on him about picking up a fly rod). We used to work together about fifteen years ago and fished a lot together. It was great to be back in a boat with him and tell old fish stories.
We run my boat up a local creek yesterday and discovered that some bigger crappie are starting show up. I have caught a few in the last few weeks but they were all little. We found a brush pile in about five feet of water and it was loaded with crappie. My buddy, Jamie, was using a 1/16 oz. white Roadrunner and i was using a size 6 clouser, green over white. The fishing was easy so we would catch a handful, then go sit on the front of my boat, drink a soda, eat some peanuts, tell a story or two and then go do it again. Great day!

Beautifully colored fish

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Thanks for sharing and the cool photos! I always enjoy a good fishing story...tell them, Jesse...we are kinda like that...Jesse, has been working on me to pick up a fly rod again and I am trying to get him to expand his horizons with a longer jig pole, that looks like a fly rod!
