I'm small scale and not spraying fence lines and whatnot. I've have been using Garden Safe the past couple years. Active ingredient is Ammoniated soap of fatty acids. It a Herbicidal soap weed killer. Organic and works great for spot spraying. But it's damn near impossible to find this year. I did a bit a googling prior to posting and it looks like Bayer of all companies sell a product called Natria. Same amount of active ingredient as GS. I'm thinking Bayer bought the recipe from the GS company and why it's hard to find on the shelf this year. I have no proof of it yet. But for a good clean weed killer Ammoniated soap of fatty acids as the active is a good.

Salt and white vinegar. Just don’t spray it on the grass cause it will kill it too.

I've been buying Glyphosphate from Wilkinsons - put it in a sprayer at 1 1/2 times the strength & it killed ivy & bind "weedeater" in a few weeks. Enough for me to be able to tackle the ground. I just resprayed when any bindweed bits emerged & it seems to have done the trick

I found the cactus burner to be just as effective as roundup. Still hoe or pull in the garden

bindweed...???...i did a bindweed control project with the Foard/Hardeman county extension agency in the early '80's...nothing kills that stuff...maybe if you kill the ground but it will still come back in a few years...i get glyphosate at wallyworld for $15 / qt ... 41% active ingredient

I've been mixing Image and Bayer Advanced Southern Lawn Concentrate Weed Killer with a little Dawn in a pump up sprayer and it works good, especially on that Khaki weed. I've about got the nutsedge under control but it takes some work.

What kind of weeds in what kind of grass? There isn't one that works for all weeds in all grass types. For broad leaf weeds I use something with 2,4-D and it is safe to use on most grass types. For grass type weeds it gets a lot more specific and some only can be treated with pre emergent. Weeds like nutsedge and kyllinga are really hard to get rid of and there are only a few herbicides available to the public.

To win the war on weeds you must first know your enemy and then know the weapons that are effective.
