Alright guys, I tried searching for this topic in the search area but I did not find anything... or maybe because I am not familiar with the search area. Anyways, I am picking up my first bass boat Saturday and just wondering a few things..
What do you keep in the storage to wipe down the boat with after you get off the water? What type of maintenance do you on a regular basis? On my surface drive (air-cooled) motor we changed the oil and serviced every 50 hours, but I've seen sometimes on here every 100 hours or annually??? What else am I missing? Do you guys flush your motor after each trip even if you run lakes?

Maintenance depends on engine and type. I follow factory recommended intervals.
Wipe down with Lucas Spray Wax and microfiber towel after each use to keep it looking good.
Congratulations on the new boat.

Or bass boat saver..
Most of the time the dealer you buy from will recommend when and what to service. But every so often, I would walk around the boat and verify everything is tight.

For keeping the boat clean, look into boat bling products. I have every one of the products 1.quickie sauce (which isn't so quickie) 2. hot sauce (just spray on smells like vinegar basically) 3. vinyl sauce and 4. condition sauce. Best stuff I have found for keeping my boat looking like a diamond. I also used the lucas spray wax but when you want that extra shine and sparkle this is the best in my opinion.

303 will keep everything looking new and you only need one product. Once or twice a year I wash mine with dawn soap to strip all the wax and put 2 coats of protec on it. As for maintenance, it's motor specific but atleast an annual tune up should be done.

Thanks guys! and it is not a new boat from a dealer, but it is in very good condition. I'll check the motor manual and see what it says on how to service it...

Whoa, nice. Congratulations. I'd say all the above, but most importantly, use the boat regularly. Mechanical systems should not sit because rubber seals and gaskets harden without regular use. So even if you don't use it every weekend, make sure you go out and start it up (with water muffs of course) regularly to keep things lubed! Just my opinion.

Nice boat except for one thing i see that dont belong on it. Get rid of that UGLY whale tail & set it up right. Whale tails are nothing more than a patch for an improperly set up boat. Congratulations on your new to you rig.

Agree with the whale tale, you should not need it on that boat. I have a smaller nitro, and it had one on it when I purchased. ( If they bolted thru the cavitation plate, fill the holes with JB weldd, tape the bottom, fill it up and let it harden, pull tape from bottom. You can also paint it. I did mine 10 years ago and still in there )
You may have to raise of lower motor, change prop, weight distribution, etc. Steves Custom Props on fork should be able to help. I had to raise my motor one notch and it planes quickly now.
I use babes boat care products, there are several.
Don't forget the trailer.

To the OP, Change your engine and lower unit oil every year. Change your fuel separator every 6 months. Check batteries every 3 months. I flush after each trip and look at changing the water pump every 2-3 years. And Simple Green works for me keeping everything clean.
