I've heard online of people cleaning a Styrofoam minnow bucket with baking soda but I was wondering if super washing soda will work as well without killing the minnows if I rinse it out well and dry it out with a towel

I would never use Minnows.....but a guy I know uses Clorox clean up with great success....just rinse thoroughly and let sit in the Sun for a while...never had a problem with residual...except one time when he forgot to rinse it....the aerator made quite a bubble show. And quickly killed a half a pound of minutes right before a very important trip.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Its easy to overthink this. Wash it and rinse it out really well. Youll wreck it with very hot (near boiling) water. And, ive never been able to completely remove smells from styrofoam, even with bleach. Though bleach really helps after cleaning with soap.
