Hi folks. Has anyone fished any of the ponds in The Woodlands? How did you do? I'm only able to catch little dinks. No luck in getting anything more than 1 lb. What gives? I would have thought that the spawn has started, especially in small ponds like those in the Woodlands. If you have fished The Woodlands, where did you do so? Were you able to catch any that were not dinks? Please advise. I'm recently retired and just started fishing. Have fished nothing but ponds in The Woodlands. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Don't give up! Its hit and miss on alot of the ponds. Golf course ponds are full of big ones. Shadow Lake on Lake Woodlands Dr. will produce some good ones. Lake Woodlands has some really big ones in it. I used to launch my 20 ft Triton at Northshore Park and idle around with the trolling motor. Big motor is prohibited. Before that, I used a 2-man Bass Buster. Spindletree, Palmer Woods, Cimmaron and the ponds in Creekside will produce. The Lake around the mall will produce, when mall security permits.....Spawn is pretty much over. Try topwater chuggers. Been producing well.

Have you tried the lake in Hughes Landing? I've not fished it, but have stayed at the hotel overlooking it many times on business. I have seen several kayaks on it and have witnessed some guys catch some decent fish.

With as many people fishing those lakes I wouldn't bet on catching anything of size.

There's a website just for this purpose that includes maps and reviews and I know the Orvis dealer there on Six Pines use to gave out tips and locations to any customer that came in and asked.

Go Lake Woodlands (I think that's the name.) It's the big lake there with the boat ramp and everything.. Few years ago went there and caught a handful of 3-4 pounders. Nice lake! Don't know if it's still that way
