Went out from 12-5 today. There are no white bass in lewisville.. I'm sure there actually are I just can't find them.. Started out in the main lake and worked north. Could not find any schools on structure... very frustrating. I have lots to learn.

Caught plenty of gizzards with my taped net which is the best net I have ever owned. Hate days like today... just venting.. cant wait until they come out of the creeks

The creeks are not loaded. There are some way way back but thats It. Until they close the flood gates its going to remain tough. Try the lake Dallas and party cove cuts when the gates are open. Current draws in the baitfish and what eats them. It wont be on fire but will be better than main lake structure at the moment. Also Check shallow rocky/gravel wind blown points like dead mans, twin teees, and the others in that area for spawners that are not interested in the creeks. Hope that helps

Thanks Chris. Not everyone has a good mentor. TFF can help bridge the gap for many looking for guidance. The way I see it there are plenty of fish for all of us. Anyone here is welcome to call or email for fishing reports, advice, etc for Lake Lewisville. I'll shoot you straight.

Thanks for the tip. I've been going out once a week with little success as well. But I did not try the Lake Dallas side. I always cut the trip short to salvage the day on some crappie at the slip.

FYI some of the small and not so common creeks have some sand bass in them. They are not just in the big 2.. Guys if we get another good rain (1-2" plus), and some current spills out into the lake we are going to see a GIANT wave of sand bass hit the creeks. I bet we haven't even seen 20% of them spawn yet. For the first few days after a heavy rain they will move from the mouth and eventually to a point where you can only get them on foot. Think of it like their migration back to the skinny water. Essentially a wave will arrive with each rain and go farther and farther back each day. Do not be afraid to get the boat in some murky water but don't touch the creeks if the water is swift. Fish the deep bends and use your side scan if you have it to see if the fish are there before you spend too much time in any particular bend. I'm throwing small paddle tail grubs from Mr Crappie in white/chartreuse on a 1/4oz pink jig head. Throw it out and let it hit the bottom and then reel it back slowly. You can also reel it back like you would a TX rig worm. They usually bite it on the fall. If I don't catch a fish in ten min of fishing I pick up and move.
