How are the Bluebonnets doing this year?
I have not gotten out much lately. Are they doing ok this year?

My brother is flying in tomorrow from San Jose and one of the things he wants to see are Bluebonnets.
Are they blossoming yet?

Haven't seen any yet in my area. First week of April is usually best.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Looked like the plants just started popping up this weekend at the ranch. About two more weeks and some should start blooming.

Derek usually puts out a pretty solid report about where to view them.

Yep. Drove down to Cuero over the weekend. Started seeing them around La Grange and got stronger the further South we drove.

Starting blooming a couple days ago. About another week and they will be pretty good. With the record rains in Feb the grass and grassy weeds will drown out the Bonnets in short order. Just like the last few years. We need a wet early winter and a dry Feb/March to make them standout. Come Bluebonnet Festival time April 21-22 they will be meh. Not sure why they don't move the fest up at least a week.

If you're into driving around and looking at flowers for some reason. This weekend looks like it will be at it's peak. Depending if we get rain on Friday will determine if it will be too wet and muddy to frolic around in the flowers and take cute pictures.

Will you frolic in the flowers with me, Derek?
