Got to fish on all three of my days off. Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday: Fished Mcqueeney and the bite was slow. Caught a couple of bass and a few sunnies. Windy but manageable. Bass were in about 8 feet of water. Sunfish were in 10 to 12 feet of water by docks.White Rooster Tails were used. Thursday: Fished the eastern side of the Guadalupe River. Meadow Lake east. The sunfish bite was good. Picked up some nice eating size Bluegill and Redbreast. Fish were in 10 to 12 feet of water holding by docks, ledges, and brush piles. A bunch were carrying eggs. A couple of bass and a few Crappie completed the catch. White Rooster Tails were used on the sunnies and bass. Crappie were holding in 10 feet of water by overhanging tree limbs and brush piles. A couple of them looked spawned out. Some fish had eggs. Full spawn will be very soon. Jigs Chartreuse/Pink worked good. Friday: Fished Mcqueeney again. The bite was better. Caught Bluegill, and Crappie. Crappie were holding by docks in 10 to 12 feet of water and so were the Bluegill. White Rooster Tails and Jigs Chartreuse/Black were the baits used. Kept a few for the dinner table.

It has been two years now. I heard rumor that the GBRA is not going to repair it! Nothing on their Web Site as well. Still finding pretty good numbers but you really have to hunt for them. woot

I do not use a float while jig fishing for Crappie. If they are suspended in certain depths other than the bottom I usually count seconds as the line is being let out. That method works well with me. I fish with a person who uses a slip float for Crappie and he does well with it.
