Hey guys. I've never visited Fairfield and am thinking of taking my family (wife and two kids) camping there in April. Is it a nice park for camping? We would bring the kayaks or a canoe and would be tent camping. It's one of the few state parks with a ton of availability in mid-April...made me wonder why the state park was not more popular for camping? Thanks.

Excellent for camping

The raccoons there are very smart. Be sure to secure any food.

Thanks guys. There are over sixty campsites available for mid April weekend while many other parks are booked solid. A little odd.

Its very nice. One of if not my favorite. Clean, quiet, large sites. Has water and power at most if not all sites even the tent ones. The showers are nice and are clean.

As Collin said, secure your food very very well. The coons there are numerous and know how to open coolers. All sorts of coolers. Smart suckers.
