I've had a devil of a time catching shad, so I bought some minnows at Trophy Tackle in Mineral Wells yesterday and decided to go crappie fishing at PK. Didn't catch a single crappie but limited on stripers. Beau's Dad ( Lush Resort)managed one and some sand bass on a swim bait. I tried to get him to fish minnows but he slabbed most of the time with no result. His luck changed once he put the Wild Eye on. All my stripers were caught on minnows or a white jig tipped with a minnow using a my 10 foot pro angler crappie rod. The striper I'm holding was 10 LB.



Saw Reel Time Guide service down rigging by us. He might have caught a few of these too. I've been seeing birds working every morning but thought it was just sand bass.

Nice slabs.

As ernest patty says, these are striped crappie. These will required blackening spice and dirty rice.

Your right Kerry it was Reel on This. Those names are too close and I got it confused.

I'll be back in a few days Joe if you want to show off that big new boat of yours. Probably can catch shad at Texoma. We had about 100 cormorants on the slough this morning so I cannot blame those shad for going too deep for me to catch.

We smackdum good this morning. Caught a limit by 9:30 and went sightseeing to Hells Gate.
Fished cleaned and sitting the porch way before noon.
Fishing has been off the charts this week.

If I had some Shad I could do better with those stripers. I think I either need dynamite or for April to come to help with Crappie. Those are some nice slabs you got there.

I took the camper and boat to Lush. Really nice place

I've got about 3 dozen minnows I've been keeping on life support for about a week now and live north of Weatherford... I'd love to head up that way, but never fished PK and the size of that lake is intimidating from a kayak...

Lots of places for yak fishing at PK.
Rock Creek off 16 is one place. Willow Beach is another.
Bluff Creek is also good. All of these places have a nice long morning paddle.
