I have a 24 volt trolling motor and one of the inline 30a fuses for the charger blew. Minkota 315D charger. I took off the cables and cleaned everything up. When I put the charger wire back on the terminal, I get a spark and blow the fuse. When I put the wire on the terminal and then try to install the inline fuse, I get a spark and blow the fuse. This is on the battery that is wired to the other one negative side of this battery to positive of the other battery. Am I just not holding my mouth right, or is there a specific order to put the trolling motor wires and then the charger wires?

You have a short somewhere. Start tracing from the batteries to the end.

It’s really weird, I know the batteries are wired correct, the cables are labeled from the factory by skeeter. The trolling motor is unplugged. The charger is off. But as soon as I touch the battery terminal with the charger wire, get a spark and blow the in-line fuse. I tried doing positive first, negative first, putting on both and then putting the fuse in, keep getting a spark and blowing one of the fuses. I could see a short making it not charge or the trolling motor not work, but this is making a spark as soon as I connect the 4th wire. Sometimes it will spark when I touch the negative and blow the fuse on the positive terminal.

sounds like a problem with a bank on the charger.Id call minnkota service.Move that bank to your starter battery and if it blows the fuse there it is the charger.

I did exactly that. Moved that bank to starting battery and the fuse immediately blew. Bought a new charger and hooked it up. No problems. All three batteries reached full charge. Got same minnkota 315d charger. Did not even have to drill new mounting holes.
