I have watched a few videos on lake Palestine where they warned about rebar damaging boats. Does anyone have any information about this?

People use rebar to mark stumps, then slide white pvc pipe over the rebar. Lake comes up, pvc floats off, only rebar remains. It will do a number on your gel coat.

Its not that bad, I have never hit any rebar on Palestine. But like any lake with stumps there will be the chance to idle into a stump with rebar hammered into it.

Heck the stumps in Palestine are harder than iron rebar. Make sure your insurance is adequate and current

Used to be a lot of rebar, especially in Flat! I dont think I've seen any anywhere on the lake in the 10-12 years!

There is still some in flat. It is in the middle of the creek channel where the west side opens up. Some still has pvc and some doesn't. Just be careful. It will cause damage if you hit it. That's why I have a gorilla hull on my boat now.
