Yes upstream but most of the fish were closer to the bridge. Kind of wish we had gone down stream.

Nice fish! That canoe rigging looks interesting. I've never seen one with a cup/bottle holder on the side like that. If you have time, post up some pics of your canoe. I've got a an Old Town Penobscot 16 that I need to rig for fishing and could use some new ideas.

This is a probably not a great shot but I custom ordered this canoe from Golden Hawk Canoes. They installed the wiring, battery tray and seats. I only put in the fish finder, Minn-Kota 55 trolling motor and cup holder which I got from Field and Stream. This is great for creek fishing! The canoe is also square stern.

That trolling motor should push that canoe fast. 55lb. thrust is awesome. I think I had like a small 15 lb. thrust on mine and it moved it around ok, but it didn't go very fast, but much better than a paddle in hand. But I used it solo a lot back in my younger days.

Went back to the beginning of this thread and was wondering what had happened to the old thread we had before this one got started?

If I remember correctly when the TFF upgraded the system (around March 2015) some older and longer threads were archived during the transition. I recall the same thing happen once before during an upgrade or server change and the earliest somerville whitebass bank fishing thread ended similarly and was closed. I think the challenge with these long threads is dead links where the best option for cleaning up is to archive and close the thread to start a new one.

No new news after the rain? I went last Friday afternoon/evening and it was slow with only about 5 cars there.

We really didn't get enough rain to make a difference. I drove out and checked on Nails and Cedar. There was no change to those creeks. I didn't even bother trying to fish them, nor did I bother walking into Newman's bottom. I've already moved on to catching sunfish and bass.

Thanks for the report J-Moe. Wow and Caldwell got hit hard by thunder storms with baseball size hail. I just knew nails and Cedar would have been on a rise.

I walked into Newmans this morning with my friends. There is a lot of muddy water in the creek. It was moving fast, just dont know if this will give us two more extra weeks to fish the Creek or not

Was there a rise in the water level? There must have been some rain somewhere in the Yegua watershed if it was muddy. It was crystal clear last weekend.

Did y'all catch any?

There might be some crappie, catfish and LMB in there if you don't find any white bass.

Crappie would be nice. Dont care too much about those slimey whisker fish. Haha. A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.
