What do y'all recommend that's lightweight and works? My mix'n'match stuff needs an upgrade.

Guide wear from Cabela's or Cabela's 4most dry plus. You can watch the sales and get some of this stuff reasonable. I bought a 4most dry plus packable camo top and pants on sale not knowing what to expect. Took it to Alaska and stood on deck in the rain all day fishing and never got anything wet. Couldn't believe how well it worked. Cheap stuff is exactly that, cheap and doesn't keep you dry. The seams will leak the second time you wear it.
I've got a set of Frogg Toggs I keep in the boat for emergencies and that has worked OK in a couple big rains.

I have a set of Frog Toggs and have kept me dry.

I also have a set of 100 mph that were costly but good.

I suggest Frog Togg. But get them a size bigger than you normally get.

I like the limit fishing rain gear. light weight, and it isnt going to break the bank.

Not sure I can help...20 years or so ago, my sister bought me a military goretex rain suit...still works as intended and I use it regularly...bought a set of frog toggs to put in the boat...they melted in two years and when I had to use them I got soaking wet...I suppose if I ever need a new rain suit, and couldnt get the military goretex offering...I would check out Simms, Or some of the other high end options...quality is usually cheap in the long run...second rate stuff is just that...second rate....

Under armor make a great light weight rainsuit. Not insulated for cold weather but great for rain.

Ive bought the cheap stuff before. Always leaks in a downpour. Ive used the same set of BPS 100mph the last 7 years for tournaments, and even in the heaviest storms stayed perfectly dry. Just remember to keep all the zippers zipped in the rain. A bit pricey but well worth it in my eyes. Also don't forget a good pair of rain boots. Ive had a pair from Muck that have lasted me 10 years.

Frogg Toggs all the way. Fold up tight for easy storage on the boat. Got three pair. One in the truck one in the boat, and when I had my Goldwing, one in the saddle bag. Academy carries them.
