Nope. Time and energy to learn new job, new people, plus retirement is only 7 years away. It would need to be 15-20% increase plus same authority for me to move.

What a maroon!

Many years ago I fished 3 to 4 days per week for years, Didn't work that much and had enough to live comfortably.

I would happily go back to those times, seems now of days all I do is work. Money isn't that important to me anymore.

Only if could manage a ranch full time somewhere. But don't think there are any such jobs that will match my current pay.

Deends on what it was. Being 61 and at my current job for 38 years I am entitled to full retirement so I would entertain the thought.

I was a field auditor for a market research company and took a 17% cut years ago to go into property management and it took me couple years to get back even but I ended making 5 times what I would have ever made in my old job.
wish I had done this years before because I also had more job security due to learning a profession (mall/shopping center mgmt.)that was in demand all across the country.
lot of factors to look at when changing jobs or professions and everybody's situation is different but my advice to a younger guy would be to look at what you are doing and where you are gonna be 20 years from now or longer.....ideally you want to have a skill that is in demand all over the country....that in itself is gonna make your employer treat you better and pay you more....

Simple answer, only if it's something I'd rather do and that if ALL things are equal. You also have to look at stability of the job which if it's the private sector can be volatile. (I've read none of the thread so this may have been addressed already.)

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
