Doubtful. About my only complaint for this job is that I'd like to actually get time off.

And I'd be getting out of it. smile I enjoy helping people, but sometimes dealing with people's problems is a serious beating and a stress pill!

I took about a 35-40% pay cut a couple years ago, but I went from a job I hated to pretty much a dream job. That made it worth it to me.

Can't even imagine what it would take to get me to change jobs. My wife and I both work for the same company, I am surrounded by friends I've known most of my life, I live less than an hour from 5 lakes that I know like the back of my hand, I make good money and my commute is 46 seconds lol. Blessed and stress free

Ive already had three full careers. Each one totally different. Getting ready to retire from the last one (@ 60) and have had offers for a fourth. Considering it closely but I think Im ready to settle down. Navy, pharmacist, pediatric dentist and commercial pilot(?)

I always thought that i would not , but the company has decided to ' go another direction ' after 26 years. Going thru this at 50 blows

To switch jobs, would need to be about 15-20% more to make it worthwhile. Also, big factors, the hours, is there an on-call requirement, travel, weekends....etc. Lots of factors will help determine if it is worth it or not.

Switching professions is a little trickier. Would have to be a little more money too and I would need to really enjoy doing it. Must have salary growth potential as well. Bonuses possibilities often help make that decision.

I may change jobs/employer some day, but not profession. I like this oilfield bidness.

I have a pretty kush gig and I enjoy what I do. Every job is going to have BS along with it. If it wasn't something I was passionate about I would stay put. If I could run cows, bale hay, and have the same income and benefits, I would switch in a heartbeat. But would I switch careers to do something I'm not passionate about, nope.

I was retired for 7 days. Retired Feb. 23. Then March 5th stared a new job/new company after 27 years with the same company.

Similar industry but quite a bit different. Lots of new things to learn and stressful at times but it will be fine. Work har do what you are supposed to do.

They interviewed over 100 different people before they hired me. They put me through 9 rounds of interviews. It was no doubt an evaluation. Better pay than my last sales gig, better company best I can tell. Time will tell.

I made the change 27 Years ago from working on industrial control systems to selling them. It was a big step then but wouldnt change a thing other than some really bad hang overs!!!. Country boy with money in his pocket can get in some trouble on the Richmond strip in Houston!!!. I came out way better when I made the change 27years ago than retiring from a dead end job and oil company pension.

I just turned 62. Will be getting my pension from the technology company I retired from starting April 1.

Cant complain about two pay checks until I decide to punch out and retire for good.

Not for equal. Better pay and match my vacation or at least get close. Did this almost 9 years ago as I had full retirement and could retire and build another nest egg.
Unless you really don't like where you are working I don't see the advantage.
