Our first dog when I married my wife was a male Lab. We brought him in because I grew up with a great one. Never showed any signs of agression. I was at work and got a call from my wife in hysteria. 1985. My daughter was three and he bit her face. Still has the scars. He went to the proverbial "Farm".
Female Boxer dog. They are loyal and will not do it. They love the family. Any sign of agression is an ejection for me. Will not tolerate it.

I wish you could come to the ER with me with a child that has severe trauma from a dog bite. you would feel the same as I, and that dog would be dead or at the shelter as a dangerous animal. any animal that does not respect it's owner is a time bomb waiting to go off. it's pretty hard on the heart to hold down a child while the doctor has to put a hundred or so stitches in them. the parents always say the same damn thing... "yes he has bit us before, but NEVER this bad..."

They put the child in a papoose and call the plastic surgeon to stitch them up. Been there. My dog ever growels at a family member. Gone to the "farm".

I wouldn't let my loved ones anywhere near a dog like that, nor permit the dog to be around them.....Period
