I'm looking at a boat 6 hours from me with a 2000 Yamaha vmax and the guy said he did a compression check. It was 150psi on the top cylinders and dropped 10lbs from there, can anyone tell me if this is normal, or what is normal?

So one cylinder had 150 and the rest were 140? Sould be within 10lbs or so total from the highest to the lowest.

My cylinders were at 135 on my 2000 vmax, I guess the gauges could all read differently though.

I say something is wrong with his compression gauge. 110-115 is the target I believe but I have been wrong many times before.

I had a Yamaha vmax 150. Cylinder pressure was in the 120 range. Seems kinda high.
