I finally managed to have some free time when the weather was suitable (for me anyway) to get out in a boat. My buddy, Nate, got a new fly rod for Christmas so we strung it up and took my boat up a local creek. We were into a school of sand bass but his rod must be a crappie rod. That was about 90 percent of what he caught, including his first ten fish straight. I was right beside him and i didn't catch any crappie. Absolutely stunning day to be outside, caught plenty of fish and saw lots of "stuff". Pretty fine day.

Capt. Mac, What kind of boat are you running? Me and some buddies are looking in to getting something for fishing around DFW lakes and the brazos. What youve got in that picture looks perfect for what were trying to get. Mind sharing some insight in to your setup? Any help is appreciated! Yall

It's a fourteen foot Monark with a twenty five horse Mariner. It does double duty as a creek boat and a flats skiff for Carp in North Texas and Redfish in South Texas. I originally built plywood floors and decks in it but i came across a steal on some aircraft aluminum a few years back and rebuilt them with that. I built a fiberglass over wood center console and dry box and made a poling platform out of galvanized conduit as well as a casting platform in front. Too much stuff to list on here but if you are still interested send me a PM with your phone number and I'll be happy to help out any way i can. I put a link to a video at the bottom if you want to see my boat in action on the Texas coast.
