Got the kiddos here at Athens for spring break... Anyone have any good spots for crappie I could take them out to catch a few? Only my second time at the lake. Thanks,

It has been tough lately. Crappie should be going shallow--or at least off edge of the grass in about 6--8 ft. of water.

Haven't fished too much in last two weeks, but when I have haven't had much success. You'll find fission the brush, but I haven't been able to get them to bite in about a month or so.

Haven't tried minnows though. I wouldn't try going over the barrier into the area behind bridge. They killed Giant Sylvania two weeks ago and things behind the barrier have been even slower. Try up the feeder creeks where you find bait and don't be afraid to fish --2 feet. Nothing there then put your boat in 8--10 ft of water and fish off the edge of the grass.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to check in with me once you get here. I live a minute and a half from the boat ramp. Don't plan on fishing much this week as I have a "yard project" that has me tired up. But I might be able to help if you need it.
