How clear is your water? I tried in the pads as well. Couldnt get bit, but our water is super clear. Wondering if theyre a good bit deeper because of it, and we have TONS of grass.

It was dirty.

Clear water may be the problem.

Fish will only push shallow if the water is off color. Clearer water means they will be deeper. I bet that is why they weren't up in that grass.

saw that episode I believe it was on Hubbard , one f my favorite shows.
