Got some more time on the bank, and decided to take one of my good friends along. This was his first time carp fishing, and his third time ever fishing! In fact, I'm the one who taught him how. Prior to today, his largest fish was a measly 2lb Channel Cat. Needless to say, he shattered that, and had a blast doing it. All fish were caught on a method mix consisting of oatmeal, panko, sweet feed, chili powder, and fermented corn, and were released to fight another day.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The first carp of the day, a healthy 26.5in 8.2lber

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My second carp, my friend was starting to think that I stole the honey hole. I could've sworn I baited his spot and mine the same! 27in and 9.4lb

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Doubled up! This was my first ever double, and I was so excited I actually forgot to take a picture, weight, or measurement of my fish (the bigger one at the bottom). I'd guess ~9lbs though.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My friend with his first ever carp! This is the one we doubled up on. He was super excited to finally land a fish, even if it was the smallest so far. 23in and 6.6lbs

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
His second ever carp! A bit longer than his first at 27in, but still only 6.6lbs.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My new PB Smallmouth Buffalo and current biggest fish ever! I was so excited to hook into yet another buff, they seem to be a bit harder to get than carp. This one clocks in at 15.2lb and 27.5in, but fortunately, it still wasn't the biggest fish.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
My last carp of the day, and my biggest carp that day at 26.5in and 9.7lb

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Surprisingly enough, the only catfish of the day for us. This one wasn't too bad, either, at 3.4lbs.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
His third carp today, they're slowly getting bigger for him. This one was 25.5in and 8.6lbs.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is the big one that ended our trip. My friend blew his previous biggest fish out of the water with this 18lb beast! It seems I'm cursed to only ever put other people on the biggest fish when I go out, but it's a blast either way. His current PB carp @ 32in and 18lb.

We had a ton of fun out on the bank and are already planning to go out again! Hopefully we smash our PBs again on the next outing!

Catch and release. The dream - to catch one of every species of Freshwater fish in our great state! If only I can resist Carp...

Thanks!
These are just random spots scattered throughout my area, I tend to look on Google Earth for a bit until I find one that looks nice, then check it out from the bank. This map is also pretty useful IMO: Carp Fishing and Bank Fishing Texas and Beyond

Unfortunately, I work 7 days a week and can't make it out Saturday or Sunday, my schedule hardly permits me to fish once a week.
