Anyone been down and caught any white bass? Just curious. I didn't see a thread.

Report on the phone said some whites are being caught so I think it may be ramping up. Got to get out there soon.

Went yesterday. Wind was awful, but after a little prospecting upriver I found them. Limited out in about three hours. Two out of three were males. Also caught an eight pound freshwater drum. Snags galore, lost six rooster tails and a rattletrap in the process. Good time, though, was worth the two hour drive from Boerne.

Awesome Nerodia. Were you on boat or bank fishing? Or Kayaking? How far up did you go?

I was there on boad yesterday, fishing near the state park entrance. Caught 3 for the first 2 hours. Had some lunch and got a few more. About 3pm, suddenly we had a few strike. Nice size 15 to 16 inches. But the storm move in and we rushed out. I heard there were big size hail in that area in the news but not sure it hit the state park or not. While we did catch many fish, it was still a great day fishing.

I left the boat at home. I was fishing in a channel between some exposed rock, about a quarter mile hike west of the camping area, on the river trail. The hike wasnt so fun coming back with that stringer!

Yeah I know what you meant. I had done that two years ago trying to drag 25 of 16 inches of white bass... I did not go last year since the water was too high.

I saw people up there yesterday. I did want to take the boat that far due to some spot are very shallow water...

Drum is very good eat and it is fun to real it in. However, it has very little of meat for a such a big drum. And yes, very heavy to carry.

Thank you for the post.
