Do any of you have any experience with inflatable fishing kayaks. I'm thinking they would be easier to transport in my travel trailer. I realize hard shell would be more durable and certainly handle easier. My question is , how long can I expect an inflatable to last if cared for and stored properly and do you think a kayak or pontoon would be more beneficial. I'm mainly interested in fishing streams/rivers ( NOT WHITEWATER ) and small lakes. Thanks in advance for any and all responses

I have owned a kayak from BoatsToGo.com. their boats and kayaks are tough and will last many years. I was impressed with mine.I had the fishing kayak. Well worth it if you want an inflatable.

I've done a lot of river paddling with people in inflatables. You tend to ride high and get blown around by the wind. Good ones like Sea Eagle are pretty tough, cheap ones are like bathtub toys. The lady in the photo is in her 70s and had no problem keeping up with us on a 20 mile overnight trip.

Thanks guys, this what I needed to make me feel better about this decision. Linecaster the Saturn FK396 from Boats to go is actually one I have been seriously considering.

Advanced elements makes some nice ones. I've used mine at least 80 times. No problems . Mostly creek fishing

Pricey! I didn't realize inflatables were that expensive.

What about one of those folding kayaks? Im not against an inflatable, they use those for whitewater rafts.

If storage is your issue in a travel trailer, I would look at float tubes which can be controlled with flippers on your feet. Smaller and easier to store. Your feet can work flippers against the wind while your arms fish. You just can't cover as much water but you can be fishing all of your time on the water.
There is a lot of set-up and take-down time with an inflatable kayak.
