I can't wait to give my two-week notice - I'm gonna beat the heck out of a pretentious D Head for the fun of it.

Eat lots of beans, fart in your office chair a lot, and bring leftover fish to warm up in the office microwave for the rest of the week. You don't want these guys to forget you.

Solid advice.

Apparently brussel sprouts also smell the microwave up real bad.

Make sure to carve your name on something.

You can avoid having ulcers by adapting to the situation: If you fall in the mud puddle, check your pockets for fish. ~Unknown

Open your eyes & look within, are you satisfied with the life youre living.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

Right before I left a job in 2000, I had a bunch of leftover business cards. I started putting them everywhere. Under microscopes, in the SEM, under ESD mats, under chairs. A year later we hired a friend from the company I left. He said they made a game of trying to find my business cards and laughed about how many I had hidden.

You can make the smell worse by using a big bowl and boiling the suckers in water.

Someone spray painted his name on a finished wall a while back.

If you have a toaster oven, burn some garlic toast. A little garlic smoke spreads through the entire office and youll still be able to smell it the next day.

I made sure everything was taken care of and in line for who ever takes over. Now that all of that is done, I wish I was fishing.

We had a sales guy put in his notice at the beginning of the calendar year. His boss told him to stay on until the end of the fiscal, which ends this month, and made him go to an industry conference to meet with all of his accounts, which also allowed him to network and discuss all of our companys plans with competitors while being a sitting duck employee.

He quit because he hates our company, by the way, doesnt have a new job lined up, and he was in charge of arguably our most important and competitive territory.

Terrible decision by his boss and upper management.

Yep, in IT you are allowed 1 box to remove personal items and walked to the door. But put in your retirement notice and my employer begs you to stay on and usually sweetens the pot as incentive.

When I have had my last 2 weeks, I have told employees the truth.
Companies hide things from employees and I would spill the beans.
I would say to a new guy remember the company said you would never lose money in your 401k.
Lie.
Or the prizes at the company picnic are not random, mgt decided in advance who wins.

I gave one month's notice at my last office, so they could find another therapist. They found one in 3 weeks and I happily moved on. It's been 3 years and I'm very glad I made the move.

Its been an interesting and eye opening process. Im young and had to made a career change. I left my first real job. I worked through high school and college, but this was the starting point for my career. I wanted to leave the company I left on good terms.

I turned in my two weeks a few weeks back and at the same time put two weeks in the system for two weeks off to help my wife with a torn ACL. 27 Years I didnt figure they would push back when I put in for my retirement. I took 5 days off and went to work as a busness development manager for another company, started yesterday.

They had a retirement party for me even though I had all I could stand and pretty much quit. Getting my retirement out of them is another story but hope to have that straightened out in a few more weeks.

Thanks, Billy
