Looking to buy the Terrova 55 lb model with spot lock-got a question. I know I will get a remote to operate the anchor feature but can I also activate the spot lock anchor by pressing something on the actual foot pedal.

I have a smaller boat so the 55 lb would seem to be enough lbs-but thinking maybe I should get the 80 lb just to be sure. Boat is only 14 ft.

The old model the answer was no. I am pretty sure the new model had it on the pedal. My ulterra does but i never use it there.

A 14' boat, a 55lb throat should be fine with a good battery. I used a 55# on my last boat and never ran it low. It had plenty of power also. The newer TMs are very efficient.

Yes there is a button on the foot petal on the newest Terrova.

If you haven't already bought it give BBG Marine in Georgia a look. Best prices I found, no taxes and free shipping. They have a website.

I have the Terrova 80 and yes, there's a button on the foot pedal for the spot-lock. There's also one for Auto-Pilot.

The only thing you have to have the remote for is the "jog" feature of spot lock. This is where, once you're spot-locked onto a location, it moves you in 5-foot increments and spot-locks onto the new location. The jog is also the only thing that the white puck is used for. Even though it looks like a GPS puck, it's only a compass.

Also, I bought mine online from iMarineUSA. They had the best price, had no taxes, and shipping was free. I was happy with them and will buy stuff from them in the future.
