My truck doesn't get that empty and without my boat.

Yes that is the golden arches, but we just stopped at a HEB gas station, the Mcdonalds is just in the shopping center. My 3 year old would kill for some of their nuggets though!

It ran about 16 stock, this was the first trip with the boat and tune in truck, it pulled it a little easier than before and got a touch better mileage. The worst tank I have gotten (empty) post tune was 27.8 mpg, most have been between 29.5 and 30.5.

Thats pretty dang good thumb. You going to keep redchevy or change your name to whiteram now. I'll admit redchevy sounds like an old beater but whiteram has a mystic sound to it.

The red chevy was my first pickup. I don't think anything will ever take its place. Hand me down from the old man I paid a few 1000 for.

I sold it with 265k on it and 18 years old as a daily driver and regret it every day. It wasn't worth much, but it was worth more to me than what I sold it for. If I still had it the tired old 350 would be swapped for a cummins 4bt.

Besides if I changed my name too many people wouldn't know who to hate lol.

I couldn't throw my 2010 Tundra out of the back of C-130 and get that type of mileage, and it's only got about 80K miles on it. Like the truck, don''t like the gas mileage.

Its been good to me so far, but there are more than a few people who have had some pretty bad luck with them. They are not without their shortcomings, but thankfully I haven't experienced any of them as of yet.

After learning that the f150 diesel will cost about the same as a loaded super duty, Im thinking about the eco diesel. My Hemi drops to 11 mpgs when towing my boat.

I am a big fan of the truck and have really enjoyed it, but do yourself a favor and be honest with yourself when you test drive it. Its not going to win any races and if you try to your not going to get good fuel mileage. I think the Ford has a lot going for it but I think they are making it to much of a luxury truck and the price point is way too high, they missed the boat with the fuel economy on the 4x4 model, and I sure would like to see a timing chain instead of a belt.

I do like the new for body style and the payload and towing numbers for it as well as the 10 speed. Will be nice if they don't have a rash of bottom end failures as well.

I thought all the F150's had a timing chain?

Everything I have read says timing belt('s) it has two of them one for each overhead cam.

I also thought it was suppose to be a twin turbo engine, but the last article I read about it said it had a single variable geometry turbo.

https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/features/Power/?intcmp=vhp-featcta-power

Regarding 3.5L - "All-new twin turbos for greater on-demand power."

Thought we were talking about the 3.0 powerstroke diesel?

I did read that link. I find it funny they say the 3.0 powerstroke is built on the legacy of the 6.7 powerstroke when in reality its a rebranded land rover engine lol the marketing guys really got ahold of that one.

After a lot of research, and test drives, I decided to buy a nicely equipped 3.5 ecoboost with max tow package. I got it for less that what my local dealer wanted for a new 2017 model of the Ram EcoDiesel.

When I was shopping for mine that is what my two options were. I decided to go with the one that would do what I needed and get better mileage. No doubt the 3.5 ecoboost is a much more powerful faster power plant and im going to say has had fewer growing pains than the ecodiesel, I just wasn't willing to give up the 30 mpg aspect.

Hope its a good one for you, I sometimes wonder if I made the right choice or not. My BIL bought a new 3.5 ecoboost the same week I bought my ecodiesel, they are both nice trucks.
