67 year old father, 100% disabled Army Infantry Vet, shot twice in chest in vietnam by door gunner of helo.... had his chest cracked and heart massaged to the MASH unit. lost left lung and multiple ribs. barely sleeps, always in pain, has an inhaler to help him breath nowadays... gets up, puts on his boots one at a time, and appreciates being alive. Still takes his boat to the lake and can flat wear the crappie out!

Life is what you make of it. Same ol phrase: Get busy living, or get busy dying!

Got ya ,
Westside Bass,
I'm just over the 85 mark, Have lived a VERY FULL life, When the Dr demands to see me, I just tell him I'm too damnd busy, I really have a tough time being considerate of folks that continually complain about getting old, hell it gives us all a bad name, and no I wont bother you with pills I take or the problems I daily have being Certified Disabled, that's my row to hoe and will do it the best I can.

I try to fish one of the Paralyzed Veterans of America tournament every year. For the remainder of the year, every time I think about griping about a sore back or an achy shoulder I think about what those guys have gone through, and about how absolutely thrilled they were to be able to go fishing. There is no better medicine for me.

I'm well on my way Gpa.
I don't bass fish like in the olden days. I still make it to work and made the youngsters look bad but after work I don't get out as much as I used to. Like today I have plans to scalp the yard and put some Scotts down but so far, nothing.

I believe my downfall was the balance problems I have since I had a bout of vertigo. I need to get out fishing again. We will see.

If you go out fishing, be darn sure and wear your PFD, even if fishing on the bank. A balance problem can be deadly around the water.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
