FYI The crappie house on Lake Eddleman also known as Peanuts Crappie House has a new owner. The place is now open all day. The city reluctantly fixed most of the road so you can now get to it without tearing up your vehicle. Also the crappie are biting so come out and try it out.

Awesome! Close to the deer lease! What's the fee to fish?

The place is open from 6am to 10pm and the cost is $5.00 for 13 to 61 and $3.00 for kids 12 & under and for seniors. There are plenty of chairs and they have a wood stove for heat. Come on out and give it a try.

I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.

I was under the impression that the city owned it. Did they sell it? Last time I was there a couple of guys would open it around 7 then lock it when they got tired of fishing around 11 am and they kind of made you feel like you were not welcomed there. Normally when I go it is never open and have to fish around the outside edge. Kind of why I quit going there not worth the money.

I fished there last year late Feb or early March when I couldn't get the boat motor going. My brother and I paid, fished for a while then the guy that said he owned it showed up (also the owner of the bait shop down the highway) nice fella. He opened the door, fished about an hour and left, but not before locking the place back up. We caught a couple of dinks and a bass.

Man, it’s been awhile since I was last there...caught a mess of dinks, a mess of keepers, and a 30ish flathead.

The city has never owned it. The city owns the lake and they lease the land to the crappie house. Its now open from 6am until 10pm so you will have inside access the whole time. There are plans to be able to buy minnows onsite. I know a couple of guys that fish there a lot that always give their fish away to people that want them.

It is about 4 miles North of Graham off Hwy. 380. You head North toward Newcastle and turn on the first road left/West past the Lake Eddleman park

Been fishing there a lot this year. The new owner is doing a good job fixing the place up. Pretty sure they are open from 6am till 8pm and they have been staying open all night Friday and Saturday and closing on Monday. My wife and I always catch some nice crappie and she caught a 8lb black bass last month on a light rig with 4 lb test line...what a show that was!

I was on a dove lease in Graham and between hunts I would ease over to the fishing barge and wet a jig. It was never open and kind of junky. Sure glad to hear about the improvements being made. I always thought it had good potential. Kind of wish I was still on the lease now...lol
