We wish that was true. It still has some big fish but the lake does not come anywhere close to producing like it did with grass. There are not hardly any 50+ fish days like when there was grass. Conroe is a true example of a TPWD failure as far as fish management is concerned.

If you have 2700+ fishing days and you hit the timing right it's going to look like the fishing is better than it is. Conroe always has good sized fish. However it isn't a lake where you typically see a high percentage of 5 fish limits in tournaments.

If TPWD could manage the grass fishing would be awesome.
