Been catching some pretty nice Redbreast this winter both during the cold and during the warm spells. The fish have been active all winter long both in the rivers and creeks. Catching in the rivers in water 9 to 14 feet deep on flats and by docks. Fish are holding by grass beds in the creeks in 5 feet of water. Worms were used with bottom techniques and all fish were released to fight again. Catching some nice Redbreast. It just don't get any better! fish

Great job Chuck thumb

Redbreast are one of my favorite. They attack a topwater fly with such viscous intent. It is so exciting I giggle like an 8 year old when catching them. There are no redbreast in Lake Somerville or the creeks that feed into it. I hate that. So when I found a couple creeks within 45 minutes of the house that feed into the Colorado river to fish, I was excited. I now have a spot closer to home to catch them.

Nice fish Chuck. Been catching a bunch these past two weeks. A lot with some pretty good size. Looks like a great year ahead. woot

Side Note: I know the Comal River holds some good Redbreast. Have your fished any of your spots this year? Any reports?

Yep, Cibolo creek is full of Redbreasts....but this past week it seems that the Long ears have replaced them where I usually find the big Redbreasts. Can't wait for the Rio bite to pick up. Me and my itty bitty fly pole will be having some super good times. laugh
