Hit the water on Sunday about 7:30 am, air temp was about 40 and the water temp was about 52. There was only a couple other trailers in the lot so looked forward to having the lake somewhat to myself. Started at the South end of the lake and really just camped out and fished really slow. Baits for the day were small 4 inch Texas rigged worms and some smaller profile creature baits weightless. The weightless baits out performed the weighted baits, no surprise with the fish being so lazy this time of year.

The pattern for the day was really all about sun and structure. Anywhere there was structure in the sun that also went into the water and warmed it a bit, that's where we got out bites. This included rock walls, boulders, downed trees, and some dock edges. I made 8 to 10 casts at every spot that looked promising and that was basically the pattern.

The bite was slow, maybe 8 or 9 bites all day, we were able to boat 7 of them. ! got off the hook before we could see it, and one got off right at the boat it looked to go around 3 and a half or 4 pounds. The bite was always subtle.. no tap tap r anything like that. All my bass were caught when the line felt heavy. Really had to check the line with a slow lift and watch the line in the water. All fish were caught in just a couple feet of water.

All in all it was a great day, besides the icebreaker fish that went about a pound and a half, all of the others were around 2 and a half to 3 pounds except for the kicker that weighed in at 8 pounds seven ounces. All fish were released to be caught another day. In between bites we were able to watch a bit of an airshow with jets performing touch and go's at the base. Great day to be out. Here are a few pics.

Nice report! I was going to go out on Lake Worth yesterday but My truck left me stranded in the Famous Footwear parking lot. I think it's the fuel pump...

Good report. I was a few miles north of you on Eagle Mtn from 7am to noon. I couldn't get a bite.

Well the only reason I didn't go up there Toofy is because the weekend before I had one bite and one fish... so I figured I would stay closer to home.. shorter drive feels better after a tough day of fishing. I would assume the same pattern would work though, what were you fishing with?

Great report and pictures. Very glad you caught 'em pretty darn good! I've fished Worth regularly for the past 13 years and recognize every spot in your pictures! I caught an 8.5 pounder on a frog in that same cove a few years ago (in early November). You did very well considering the off-color water and the temperature!

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Yeah, someone PM'd me and told me I should black out the scenery behind or someone would know my spot lol... I think EVERYONE already fishes those coves... if that cove isn't one of the most pressured spot on the lakes I would be surprised lol.. besides, if someone can utilize information I provided to have a great catch, then I am all for it..
