Spring on the one in boat is weak or broke and cover does not stay open. Does anyone know if the covers are designed to stay up when opened? I bought a new and it stays open fine in the horizontal position but not vertical. I emailed manufacturer stating that I have never seen a radio mounted horizontally. Waiting for their reply but wanted some actual user experiences.

Just read reviews on Amazon. Common problem. I will just mount so lid opens down instead of up. Should have read the reviews before posting.
